Video Transcript
Hello, all welcome to my youtube channel Thejigsaw. My name is Hari Prasath. Today I am going to show you how to shoot a product for an e-commerce..so lets we start.
Setting Up The Background & Product
Here I have a camera Canon 6D Mark II. Its a good camera for an e-commerce photo shoot. And I have a Elinchrom Frx-400 light. .today we are going to shoot the iron box. I have kept the background colour grey because it will help me in post-production since the product colour is white. Now place the iron box in the center of the table. We will focus on the iron box.
Light settings
Now I will set up the light, keep the key light 1st in 45 degree and the second light is called fill light.it is showing 5.0 flash units, we have to increase three stops more 5.3 flash units. Same settings for another light.
Camera Settings
These are the basic settings for e-commerce product photography.
- Shutter Speed – 1/125
- Aperture – F14
- ISO – constant 100
- Image Quality – raw & jpeg (it is for editing)
- White balance – Custom White Balance.
Now we are ready to shoot.
(Without thermocol)
- Shutter Speed – 1/125
- Aperture – F16
- ISO – constant 100
The picture is good, but the reflection of light is coming on the product so to avoid this, we will use the thermocol.
(With thermocol)
- Shutter Speed – 1/125
- Aperture – F10
- ISO – constant 100
Before & After Iron Box Image
Now I will take some pictures from a different angle. The first angle will be a normal angle and the second angle will be 45 degree. Same as before we will use thermocol to avoid the light reflection. The perfect shot!

- Shutter Speed – 1/125
- Aperture – F16
